ChatGPT hit 100 million weekly users last week and I still dont get it
Thats a wild number to wrap my head around considering half my friends still think its just a fancy search engine. Anyone else feel like the people using it daily are a way smaller slice than that stat suggests?

Do I count as a weekly user if I mostly just ask it to explain memes my kids send me? Guilty as charged. I probably use it 3 times a week but half those sessions are "write a nice email to my neighbor about their barking dog" type stuff. Not exactly world changing. But hey, getting to 100 million people is still insane no matter how you slice it.

Right?! That's totally still a weekly user, no question! But honestly, I think this is where the real story is. All of those little everyday things like writing neighbor emails or explaining memes, they add up fast. It's like how everyone I know started using video calls for work stuff, but now they're just part of normal life for catching up with friends. That's the kind of quiet, behind the scenes habit that just sneaks up on you and suddenly you're not even thinking about it anymore.
