Heard a podcast host argue AI art is just a tool, but my friend called it theft

One said it's like a new type of paintbrush, the other said it's built on stolen work without credit. Which side do you land on?

Yeah and that's the thing, it's both at the same time. It's a crazy powerful tool for sure, but the way they built it by just scraping everything online feels pretty messed up. Like they used people's art without asking or paying them. So the tool itself is cool, but the foundation is shady. Makes it hard to feel good about using it.

Man tell me about it! I found out some of my old sketches ended up in one of those training datasets without me knowing and it honestly made my blood boil. Like I worked hard on those pieces and some company just takes them for free to build a million dollar product. Makes you wonder what's even the point of making stuff anymore if it's just gonna get hoovered up without a thought.

So we're all just okay with digital grave robbing?
