My local news station's weather forecast got way more accurate this year

I live in Denver and for years the 5-day forecast was basically a guess, but starting about six months ago it's been spot on. They said they switched to a new AI model that learns from past local weather patterns. Is anyone else seeing their local forecasts get this much better, or is it just my area?

Yeah my buddy in Phoenix said the same thing. He was making fun of the forecast for a pool party, said "zero percent chance of rain" so they didn't even put the cover on. A freak monsoon hit out of nowhere and flooded his yard. He was so mad. But now he says it's scary good, like @torres.leo said. It told him "wind gusts at 35 mph starting at 4:15" last week and his patio furniture actually blew over right at 4:20. He just stood there staring at his phone.

My weather app in Seattle has been weirdly good at calling rain lately. It used to just say "chance of showers" for like three days straight. Now it'll say "light rain starting at 2 PM" and it actually starts at 1:50. It's a little spooky. I guess the AI thing is rolling out in a lot of places.
