Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say AI art is just 'fancy copy-paste'
He was talking loud on his phone near me. Said the new image models don't create anything, they just remix old stuff. I've been using one for my small business graphics for about 4 months now. It made me stop and really look at what I was making. The outputs are good, but are they new? Has anyone else had a moment that made you question the 'innovation' part of all this?

Honestly that take is so lazy it hurts my brain. Yeah it uses existing stuff to learn, but so do people. Every artist looks at other art. The real magic is how it puts things together in ways you'd never think of. Calling it fancy copy paste just shows he doesn't get how the tech works at all. It's a new tool, not a copy machine.

My buddy tried telling me the same thing while we were at a PIZZA place and the jukebox glitched out playing two songs at once.
