Overheard two students at the library talking about an AI that can predict protein shapes from just a sequence. Blew my mind a little.

Remember when people said computers would never get something like this right? I used to think protein folding was the kind of puzzle you just couldn't solve without real world tests. Seeing these AI tools work changes the whole picture for me. It's one of those things that seemed impossible until it wasn't. Makes you wonder what else we're currently stuck on that a new tool will crack open next year.

Used to believe you needed a lab and years of work to figure that stuff out. These new tools are changing the game fast. It makes drug discovery and basic science way more efficient. The potential here is actually huge. Kind of scary how quickly the field is moving.

Man, remember when "AI" just meant a chatbot giving terrible advice? Now it's out here doing real science... feels like we skipped a few steps. Guess we better enjoy figuring stuff out before the robots take over the lab too.
