That brutal review of my AI chatbot's "personality" made me dump 3 months of training data

Someone said it sounded like a used car salesman with a caffeine addiction, so I rewrote the entire tone prompt and now people actually stick around for more than 2 messages... anyone else get feedback that forced a total restart?

Geez, I gotta say I'm on the other side of this one honestly. That used car salesman vibe might have been doing more work than you think - pushy but memorable, you know? I've seen tons of these chatbots that try to be all mellow and friendly and they just blend into the background noise. Nobody remembers them after two messages either.

Right there with you on this one. I've seen those mellow bots too and they just kind of fade into the background. There's something to be said for a bit of energy even if it's a little over the top. My students zone out on the calm ones but they definitely remember the pushy sales pitch from the interactive history lesson last week.
