I finally gave up on preheating my air fryer every single time
My buddy who runs a food truck told me most stuff cooks fine from cold and I cut 5 minutes off my salmon after trying it last Wednesday, anyone else skip the preheat step?

@elizabethwhite cold start is basically science proving we've all been brainwashed by the manual, next thing you know they'll tell us to stop preheating our ovens for toast.

Shook my kitchen timer right off the counter when I read that about the salmon. Five minutes is huge for a delicate fish filet that can dry out fast. Did your buddy explain why cold start works so well for proteins?
