My brother-in-law gave me the same advice, and I somehow managed to dry out a salmon fillet so bad it crumbled like sawdust. It was my one and only attempt, so I guess I found the one way to mess it up.

Was that before or after the smoke alarm went off?

My first few tries were total disasters, dry as a bone just like aaron150 said. Walker.hayden is right to ask about the smoke alarm because I set mine off constantly back then. I finally got it right by using way less heat than I thought I needed.
