Serious question, has anyone else had their air fryer basket coating start to peel?

Mine is a Cosori model I got about 18 months ago. Last week I was making some frozen fries and noticed little black flecks in the basket after shaking it. I looked closer and saw the non-stick coating was flaking off in a few spots, especially around the edges. I stopped cooking immediately and threw the food out, just in case. Has anyone found a safe way to fix this, or is it just time for a new basket?

Toss it... that coating is not safe once it starts to peel. I had the same thing happen with my old one. Contacted Cosori directly and they sent a free replacement basket, no questions asked. Might be worth trying before you buy a whole new unit.

Did Cosori really replace it for free, @foster.mary? That coating is definitely bad news once it flakes off.
