Tossing chicken wings with baking powder changed my air fryer game

I used to think air fryer wings would never get crispy like deep-fried ones. Then I saw a video where they mixed the wings with a spoon of baking powder before cooking. Tried it last week and the skin came out super crunchy and golden, no oil needed. What other prep tricks have you guys found for better crunch?

My oven still mocks my early attempts at crispy wings before I learned that trick.

Remember when wings would come out kinda soggy no matter how long you cooked them? I did that for years before someone told me the baking powder trick. It's all about drying the skin out before it even hits the heat. That little bit of powder pulls moisture to the surface so the oven air can crisp it up right. Total game changer, turned my wing failures into something actually edible. I still can't believe it took me so long to learn something that simple.

Exactly, that baking powder trick is like a magic spell for crispy skin. I felt the same way when I finally tried it after years of rubbery wings.
