Cracked a fuel line fitting on a 737 at 2am, took 3 tries to get it right

Snapped the ferrule on a -7 line during a hurry-up maintenance call in Memphis last week, and after bleeding all over the tarmac I finally realized I was overtorquing with a crows foot instead of a crow's foot adapter, anyone else run into this on older frames?

Bleeding all over the tarmac just adds that extra bit of authenticity to the job, right? Sounds like the airplane wanted your blood as a sacrifice before it let you fix it.
