Had a weird hydraulic line leak on a King Air in Billings last month that turned out to be a bad O-ring from a new seal kit.

Oh great, another "new" part failing right out of the box. It's like they're building these seal kits with a random number generator. Guess that's why we always keep the old O-rings until the new ones prove they can hold pressure, right?

Actually, I've had pretty good luck with new kits lately.

Is it just me or have you noticed a pattern with which parts fail most often? Like, I swear the lip seals on the double-acting cylinders never last as long as the rod wipers on the single-acts. Makes me wonder if the manufacturers switched suppliers without telling anyone.
