Shoutout to the day a tail stand almost got me in Spokane

Last Wednesday I was doing a brake swap on a CRJ-200 over at the hangar in Spokane. Everything was going fine until I got called away to help with a borescope on the other side of the bay. I left the tail stand loose, just sitting there with the pin half out. Came back 20 minutes later and found the whole thing had shifted about two inches because somebody bumped into it. The aircraft was still on jacks too. That could have been a real bad day if the nose gear had dropped. My lead just looked at me and said "you got lucky this time." Has anyone else had a close call with ground equipment that made you rethink your whole workflow?
