Showerthought: I was wrong about that new composite patch material

Always thought the old-school aluminum patches were the only way to go, but we used the new ACP-100 stuff on a Cessna 172's wing last month. The bond strength test after 48 hours was actually better than the spec sheet said. Anyone else had a good experience with a material they were initially skeptical of?

Had the same thing happen with that new high-temp firewall sealant. Used it on a Cherokee Six exhaust repair, fully expecting to redo it. That stuff is still holding strong after a year of hard use.

Nah, @the_julia got lucky but I'll stick with the old stuff.
