Vent: The three-week bracket wait on a Piper Cherokee changed how I see repair deadlines
I used to think hitting tight deadlines was everything in this job. We had a Piper Cherokee down for what should have been a quick fix, but the bracket was back-ordered for weeks. I was ready to scream, but an old-timer in the hangar told me a story about a rush job that led to a callback. Now I believe some things just take as long as they take, and pushing it can cause more trouble. It's a hard pill to swallow, but waiting properly is part of the craft.

Actually, that "one bracket delay" is just the tip of the iceberg.
