Wasted $80 on a counterfeit torque wrench off eBay

I bought a digital torque wrench from some no-name seller on eBay for $80 back in March. First time I used it on a 737 wheel nut it felt way off, so I checked it against my Snap-on back home. It was reading 150 ft-lbs when the real torque was barely 110. Guy at my hangar said he saw the same thing happen to a friend who snapped a landing gear bolt. Has anyone else gotten burned by fake tools online?

Honestly, same thing happened to me with a "brand new" torque wrench off Amazon last year. Ngl, I didn't catch it until I stripped a bolt on my truck and lost a whole day fixing it.

Stick with Snap-on or CDI. I learned the hard way too.
