Watched a set of brake pucks go from fine to cracked in under 40 cycles

We had a Citation on the line that got new carbon brakes about 8 months ago. The pilot was doing a lot of short hops with quick turns, so the brakes never really cooled down between landings. Last week during a routine check, we saw a network of fine radial cracks in three of the pucks. The heat soak from the rapid cycles basically cooked them. Anyone else run into this with high-utilization corporate birds?

Reminds me of the time I cooked a pizza so fast the cheese never even melted. Heat management is no joke on those short turns.

Did you try turning the heat down next time?

My old Cessna manual said heat cycles didn't matter.
