Had to pick between a hardwired and wireless retrofit for a big old house
The client wanted a full system but the walls were solid plaster. Running wire would have been a huge job. I went with a wireless setup using a Honeywell panel and it took me two days instead of a week. Anyone else find wireless gear works better than expected in tricky spots?

Yeah, wireless saved me a ton of time on a plaster job too.

Remember when Lucas said his wireless gear saved time? I had a similar thing with a laser level last week. Was doing a tile floor and the old corded one died. Grabbed a cheap wireless one from the truck and it was a game changer. No more tripping over the cord or finding an outlet in a dusty room. Just set it up and go, made lining everything up way faster.

Hate to be the one to push back here, but I've been on both sides and I'm not convinced wireless is always the answer. @thea704 mentioned a laser level - sure, that makes sense for marking lines. But for a plaster job, the battery life is a real concern. I've been halfway through a ceiling patch and had my cordless drill die, had to wait 45 minutes for the spare to charge. With corded tools, you plug in and you're done until the job is finished. There's something to be said for not worrying about power in the middle of a wet mix.
