Hit 500 panel installs yesterday without realizing it

I was cleaning out my truck and found my old logbook from 2006. Counted up all the jobs I've done since then and it came to exactly 500. That's 18 years of crawling through attics in Phoenix summers. Never thought I'd stick with this trade that long but here I am. Anybody else keep track of their total installs?

and get this, my buddy marco hit 600 last year and his logbooks still sitting in a milk crate in his garage. he told me he only counted cause his wife wanted to know how many times he'd come home smelling like drywall dust.

...and I bet you still haven't found a pair of boots that can survive a full week of Phoenix roof work, have you? 500 panels is a lot of sweating and swearing, I'm impressed you even bothered to count them. My knees hurt just thinking about all those attic crawls. What's the secret, do you replace your kneepads more often than your socks, or do you just accept the dirt and call it character?

Oh man, your knees are definitely on my wavelength - I went through three pairs of kneepads last summer alone and my left one still sounds like gravel in a blender? The secret with Phoenix boots is you just give up on them looking decent after day two, they turn into these grimy, sweat-stained bricks that stand up in the corner by themselves. And forget about the socks, I've thrown away at least a dozen pairs that got so crusty with drywall dust they could walk to the trash on their own. My buddy Jake just tapes his boots shut with gorilla tape after week three and calls it good enough, which honestly works better than you'd think.
