Hot take: wired sensors are still better than wireless in most houses
I keep seeing guys on here pushing wireless systems for every job. But I did a install last month in a brick ranch house from 1965 and used wired sensors instead. The homeowner wanted to save money but I told them wireless would cost more in batteries and interference long term. It took me an extra 2 hours to run the wires but the system has been rock solid for 6 weeks now with zero false alarms. Anyone else still sticking with wired over wireless for older homes?

Yeah I read a tech blog saying wireless gets flaky with thick brick walls.

Honestly I read something similar from a home automation blog that said wireless signals drop like crazy in old plaster and brick walls. Wired is just more dependable for those tricky spots.
