I finally got a Honeywell Vista panel to talk to a DSC wireless receiver
This retrofit in a San Antonio office building took me 6 hours when I thought it would be one. The main issue was the old DSC receiver's voltage output, and I had to rebuild the entire data line with a resistor. Has anyone else had this much trouble mixing those two brands?

What resistor value did you end up using on the data line?

Went with a 470 ohm resistor on the data line, seemed to work okay for a while but then the signal started getting flaky after like an hour. Should've listened to Wesley about mixing old and new gear, that's been the whole story with this project honestly. The newer chips just don't play nice with the older pull-up values even when the datasheets say they should. Swapped it to a 10k and it's been solid since, just goes to show you can't trust everything you read online about these things.
