Picked a honeywell vista over a dsc power series for a 3-story office build last month

Went with the vista because the client wanted z-wave light control integrated and now I am dealing with a finicky 5800 series sensor that keeps dropping signal on floor 3, anyone else have trouble with these in metal-framed buildings?

Is the metal framing maybe messing with the signal more than you'd expect? I mean, those 5800s can be pretty picky about placement even in a normal house, so a big metal building sounds like a nightmare. Maybe try moving the receiver to a more central spot on the second floor?

Man, "a big metal building sounds like a nightmare" is putting it mildly. I've dealt with those 5800s in my own house and they're finicky enough with just normal walls and stuff. A whole metal frame building must be like trying to yell through a tin can from across a football field. I totally feel your pain, that's such a frustrating issue to have, especially when you think you've got everything set up right. Moving the receiver to a more central spot on the second floor is honestly the best first step, but I wonder if maybe you gotta go extreme and get a longer cable to put it right next to a window or something. Hope you get it sorted, that kind of signal noise can drive a person up a wall.
