I used to rush through explanations too, until a client looked more confused than my dog during a thunderstorm.

Actually, a confused look sometimes means they're really paying attention, not that you failed. Your story about the dog, @west.jade, kinda shows they were trying to get it. That deeper focus builds way more trust long term.
