That moment a tamper switch fell right off the panel during a final test

I was out in Maplewood last Thursday finishing up a residential install, just about to wrap everything up. Hit the test mode on the keypad, walked to the front door to trigger the contact, and I hear this clunk inside the panel. Opened it up and the tamper switch had literally popped off its mounting point inside the cabinet. Plastic tab just snapped clean off. Had to drive 20 minutes back to the shop to grab a whole new panel because that one was shot. Customer was watching me the whole time, asked if this happens a lot. I told her not really, but man, it made me look like I didn't know what I was doing. Anyone else have a brand new panel part fail on them right out of the box like that?

Swap panels with the same model from stock, that plastic tab is a known weak point on those.

Not just the tab itself though... the whole mounting bracket design puts stress in a weird spot when temperature changes happen. My buddy's 2018 had both panels loosen up after a hot summer and a cold snap, the plastic got brittle and snapped clean off. Had to replace the whole assembly because the dealer said the bracket was slightly warped too.
