Tried pulling cat5 through a packed conduit with dish soap, and one run took me 40 minutes
Last Thursday I was doing a 12 camera job in a old strip mall in Mesa and the only conduit run was already jammed with old phone lines, so I figured a little Dawn soap would slick it up and save me from fishing a whole new path. It actually worked great for the pull, but about 6 hours later the soap dried tacky inside and I could not push a second cable through for anything, ended up cutting the run out and starting over. Anyone got a lube that actually stays slick after it dries, or am I stuck buying real pulling lube from now on?
