Unpopular opinion: I miss the old hardwired motion sensors
Five years ago I would spend half a day fishing wire for a single PIR. Now everything is wireless and I can do three zones in an hour. But I swear the old hardwired ones in my first installs from 2010 are still running without a single battery change. Anyone still running into buildings where you can actually use conduit?

is it just me or does this apply to everything now? my parents still have a toaster from the 90s that works perfectly but my "smart" one died after two years because the app stopped being supported. we traded reliability for convenience and im not sure we got the better deal. my buddy has those old wired sensors in his place too and they never ghost him like my wireless ones do at 3am when i gotta go tap the panel.

Honestly that's probably a good thing, those old wired sensors are built like tanks. I mean they might look dated but they just keep working forever. My buddy's place has them and he never gets false alarms like the wireless ones sometimes do. Kinda makes you wonder if new tech is always better.
