Vent: I tightened my panel mounts wrong for 2 years, a service call in Boise set me straight

Turns out I was over-torquing the mounting screws on every panel I installed. A homeowner in Boise had me out to check a false alarm, and when I went to swap the board I noticed the standoffs were cracked on all four corners. My torque wrench was set to 15 inch-pounds, but the spec sheet from the manufacturer says 8 is the max. Anyone else ever trust a habit over the printed numbers and find out the hard way?
