Wireless vs hardwired sensors - was skeptical of wireless for years...

I used to swear by hardwired sensors only. Thought wireless was just for lazy installers who didn't want to run cable. Then I took on a job at an old brick church downtown where drilling was basically impossible. After 3 months with those wireless contacts I haven't had a single false alarm. Has anyone else switched sides on this?

Honestly, I'm still not totally sold. One year between battery changes is decent but that's still a maintenance step hardwired never needs. And what about the range issues in bigger buildings or places with thick walls? Ngl, I've seen too many wireless setups where one dead sensor takes down a whole zone because they couldn't figure out the battery was low. Tbh, I'd rather pull cable once and be done with it than keep checking on little plastic boxes every year.

Isn't that the truth about old buildings? I had a similar turn on a Victorian house retrofit last year. Running wire through lathe and plaster was a nightmare, switched to wireless and it saved my back, literally. Battery life has gotten way better too, I used to change them every few months now it's maybe once a year.
