Got two quotes for a new furnace in Calgary and the $3,800 difference came down to one thing
Our 1998 furnace finally quit in January, so I got quotes from two companies here in Calgary. The first guy just looked at the old unit for 10 minutes and handed me a number, the second spent 45 minutes in the basement checking ductwork and asking how we use the house. The second quote was $3,800 higher but included a load calc and fixing two crushed ducts the first guy never even mentioned. Six months in, our upstairs bedrooms finally heat evenly and the gas bill went down about $40 a month. Anyone else get wildly different quotes like this, and did you go with the cheaper one or the one who actually did the homework?
