Heads up: Alberta homeowners insurance average topped $2,100 this year in Calgary
I was digging through the rate filings last week and the average home premium in Alberta jumped to around $2,100, up about 12 percent from last year, with a lot of it blamed on hail claims in Calgary and Red Deer. My broker in Airdrie mentioned a single June storm cost insurers over $2 billion. If you haven't shopped your policy in the last two years, when did you last get a quote?
