Rant: Just realized I've been clearing snow off my driveway totally backwards all winter
I watched my neighbor brush his driveway twice this week while I was out there for over an hour with a shovel, and finally asked what his deal was. He told me to push snow sideways off the edge instead of trying to shove it straight forward like I was doing. Has anyone else found a weird trick that saved them time in the snow?

Dude that neighbor is a lifesaver. I used to do the exact same thing, just shoving snow straight ahead like a bulldozer, and my back was killing me after every storm. The real game changer for me was pushing snow in layers, not trying to move the whole pile at once. If you angle the shovel a bit, you can take smaller bites and slide it off to the side way easier. Also, spray some cheap cooking oil or WD-40 on your shovel blade, snow wont stick to it as bad. Saves you a ton of energy and time.

3 times this week I've seen someone do something the hard way for years until some random person showed them a simple trick. It's like we all get stuck in our own little bubble and forget there's usually an easier way to do just about everything.
