Update: The $600 quote for a dryer vent cleaning turned out to be a scam after I called the gas company
Guy at my door in Edmonton said my vent was a fire hazard and tried to charge me on the spot, but I called Atco and they said never pay more than $150 for a proper cleaning so I told him to kick rocks has anyone else had these door-to-door vent guys show up out of nowhere?

Friend of mine nearly had her house go up because of lint buildup in the vent. Fire department showed up and everything, scary stuff.
