Was dead set against tankless water heaters until my old tank burst in January and the plumber talked me into a Navien

After 3 months of never running out of hot water for back to back showers during that cold snap in Edmonton I'm kinda kicking myself for not switching years ago - anyone else make the switch and wish they did it sooner?

Yeah my buddy got one put in last year and he's been talking my ear off about it ever since. He lives in an old house with three teenagers and says morning showers finally don't feel like a race against the clock. The thing that really sold me was him telling me about the time his whole family plus some guests all showered and ran the dishwasher at once and nobody got blasted with cold water. He did warn me the install cost was rough though, like two grand more than a regular tank. But hearing him go on about it makes me think I'll probably switch when my current one kicks it.

Wait, are you me? Because I had basically the same experience talking to my cousin who got one last year. He's got a big family too and he was going on and on about never running out of hot water even when everyone's doing laundry and dishes at the same time. The install cost is no joke though (he told me about the same price jump) but ever since he showed me his utility bill dropping a bit each month, I started saving up. I'm just waiting for my current water heater to finally give out, you know, so I can feel justified pulling the trigger.
