I just realized I've been sealing my flagstone patio wrong for months...

I was putting on a second coat of sealer on my patio near the UNM area, and my neighbor walked over to ask why I was doing it in the hot afternoon sun. He pointed out the sealer was beading up and not soaking in because the stone was too warm, which explained the weird patchy look I've had since spring. Anyone know the best time of day to seal stuff here in the summer?

Feel the pain, I did the same thing to my deck last year lol. Try early morning before the sun really cooks everything.

My friend Sarah over on Copper Avenue had the same problem with her walkway. She ended up having to strip the whole mess off with a chemical cleaner because it turned cloudy. The guy at the stone yard told her the surface temp needs to be under 85 degrees, so she waits until after 8 PM now. Does your sealer can list a max temperature?
