Just realized my 1930s stucco house had zero insulation behind the plaster walls

Found out during a bathroom reno when I pulled off a section of wall near the vent stack. My December gas bill hit $340 which seemed crazy for a 1200 square foot house. Anyone else dealt with blowing insulation into old Albuquerque plaster walls?

I used to think old houses were fine the way they were. But after my first winter in a 20s-era place here, I totally changed my tune. That $340 bill is brutal but it's exactly what pushed me to finally blow some cellulose in.

Blow that cellulose in there before your wallet files for divorce. I did my 1920s bungalow two years ago and my December bill dropped from $280 to like $160. Just make sure they drill from the outside if your plaster is original cause patching those holes inside looks like a polka dot mess.
