Paid $400 for a "thermal audit" and got a list of stuff I already knew
The guy walked around with a laser thermometer for an hour and told me my windows and the garage door were the main leak points, which I could've guessed for free. Did anyone in Albuquerque actually get useful data from one of these, or am I just stuck with the cold bedroom?

That audit sounds like a total rip-off. Honestly, a thermal camera on a cold day would've shown the same thing without the fancy report. Maybe ask around for a local energy rater who actually does blower door tests, that's way more useful than the laser pointer dance. Your cold bedroom might be a duct issue or insulation gap in the ceiling, not just windows. For $400 you could've bought a cheap thermal camera and done it yourself.
