PSA: That cheap spray foam from the big box store is not the same as the good stuff

I used the $4 can on my rim joist gaps last fall and it shrank so bad I could see daylight through it by spring, has anyone else had gaps reappear after using the budget cans?

I used to think foam is foam, you know, just spray it and done. But your story about the rim joist gaps totally changed my mind. That's crazy bad shrinkage, like the cheap stuff is basically a scam. I was gonna grab a few of those bargain cans for my crawlspace but now I'll just spend the extra on the real stuff.

Yeah, did yours turn all crumbly too? Mine looked solid for about a month then just started flaking off in chunks like stale cheese. Total waste of $4, I ended up pulling it all out and redoing it.
