Rethought my whole stucco patching approach after a chat with my neighbor

I've been patching cracks in my north wall for years with the same premix stuff, and they always came back by spring. Then my neighbor down on Copper Ave told me he switched to a fiberglass mesh tape under his patch, said it's the only thing that held through last winter's freeze-thaw cycle. He showed me a section he did back in 2019 and it looked solid, no hairline cracks at all. Anyone else tried the mesh method, or is it overkill for small jobs?
