Swapped the $30 box store roller for a $90 Wooster and my ceiling looks human now

Been painting my hallway for two days and every pass left streaks I could see from the couch. Tried the cheap 9 inch frame with the flimsy nap, thought I was going crazy. Picked up a Wooster Pro microfiber cover at Sherwin on Lomas yesterday. Night and day. The paint lays down flat, no bubbles, no roller marks. Cost me $27 extra and maybe 20 minutes of my afternoon but it saved me from doing a third coat. Why does the cheap stuff even exist? Anyone else fight the cheap roller battle or is it just me being stubborn?

Man, I feel your pain on this one... spent three weekends last year painting our living room with those cheap orange handles and I swear the paint dried before I even got the roller off the wall. Bought the fancy one at the paint store out of pure spite and it was like somebody turned off the difficulty setting. The cheap rollers have that weird nap that just picks up lint and leaves those little stripes no matter how slow you go. Now I keep three Woosters cleaned and wrapped in the garage because I'm never doing that dance again.
