The $15 caulk remover tool I laughed at actually fixed my tub

I spent two Saturdays in July scraping old caulk off my bathroom tub near the UNM campus with a razor blade and my fingers. My neighbor saw me cursing at it and handed me this weird plastic handled caulk remover tool she got for $15 on Amazon. I used it on a 6 foot run of caulk and it peeled everything out in 20 minutes, so has anyone else found those cheap single purpose tools worth keeping around?

Well now, that's a story I can appreciate. I had the same experience with a grout saw that cost me eight bucks. I fought with a utility knife for a whole afternoon, and that little plastic thing did the job in about fifteen minutes for a tiny bathroom. The thing nobody mentions is that those cheap tools are usually made for one specific headache, and when they work, they save you way more than the price in frustration and time. I'd say the real trick is learning which single purpose tools are worth keeping, and which ones end up in the drawer with the extra screws and takeout menus forever.
