Warning: I saw a guy on a roof in the North Valley yesterday without a single drop cloth down.

His whole cleanup must have taken hours. I keep a cheap tarp in my truck now just for that kind of thing. Anyone have a better method for catching debris on a sloped roof?

Man, I've been that guy. Spent more time crawling around in the bushes picking up old shingle grit than I did on the actual job. My move now is a heavy-duty magnet on a rope. I drag it through the gutters and the grass below after. Catches all the nails and metal bits the tarp misses.

Wait, you're telling me you just leave the magnet in the gutter and drag it? That sounds like a great way to lose a perfectly good magnet when it snags on something. I'd be too worried about it getting stuck to just let it go like that.

Is it really that big of a deal if a guy forgot a tarp? I mean, yeah it's messy, but "warning" makes it sound like he was committing a crime or something. @julia_jones72 I'm with you on the magnet thing too, seems like a good way to lose twenty bucks if it snags on a gutter bracket. Idk, maybe I just don't care enough about lawn debris, but I'd rather spend the extra time picking stuff up than carrying a giant tarp up a ladder.
