Am I the only one who still replays a 10 minute chat from 3 years ago?

Ran into my old neighbor Mike at the gas station in Wichita last Tuesday and he casually said 'you were always the reliable one,' and I've been spinning on whether he meant it as a compliment or a subtle dig about my old job ever since, has anyone else gotten stuck on a throwaway line like that?

Three years ago my sister said "you handled that better than I would have" and I still catch myself wondering if she meant I was too soft. I finally called her about it last month and she laughed for five minutes. Turns out she meant it exactly as a compliment, she just was tired and being clumsy with words. After that I decided to just ask people when I get stuck on a line like that. It saves me weeks of overthinking and honestly, most folks are happy to clear it up.
