Been stirring my spaghetti sauce clockwise for 15 years... friend saw me do it and asked why

I never even thought about it. Just always went clockwise. He said it doesn't matter which direction you stir. Now I'm sitting here wondering what else I've been doing wrong my whole life. Anyone else ever get that feeling when someone points out something basic you've been messing up?

Hold up, I actually DO think direction matters. I stir spaghetti sauce counterclockwise because I'm left-handed and it just feels more natural to push the spoon away from my body. Clockwise always feels like I'm fighting my own wrist. Plus if you're right-handed and stirring clockwise you're probably scraping the bottom of the pot in a way that leaves chunks stuck in the corners. Watch your friend next time they stir something. Bet they leave little burnt bits on the edges because their stirring pattern is all wrong.

Right, because burnt bits are definitely a stirring direction issue and not just people forgetting their sauce exists. Truly groundbreaking culinary science here.
