Had a full breakdown over a broken zipper in a Walmart parking lot yesterday

I was trying to get groceries into my car and the zipper on my winter coat just snapped right off. It was like 15 degrees out and I stood there for 5 minutes just staring at the broken zipper and thinking about how this coat was a gift from my mom 3 years ago and how I should have taken better care of it. Ended up tying it with a hair tie and just sitting in the car for 20 minutes before I could drive home. Anyone else have a random object failure just wreck your whole day for no good reason?

Three years? Honestly, that coat was already past its prime. You can get a decent winter coat at Target for like 40 bucks and it'll last you a few seasons if you don't beat it up. Sounds like you were just looking for an excuse to spiral over something small. The zipper breaking is annoying but that's not a reason to sit in a cold car for 20 minutes feeling sorry for yourself. Maybe the real problem is you attaching too much sentimental value to a piece of clothing instead of just dealing with the situation. Tie it up, finish your errands, and move on. This isn't a breakdown moment, it's a Tuesday.

Zipped my jacket wrong once and tore the seam halfway down. Instead of getting upset, I grabbed a safety pin from my car and made it work until I got home. Sometimes you just need a quick fix and to keep moving instead of sitting there stewing.
