Heard a guy at the diner say 'they're probably talking about me' when a table laughed. I do that too. Am I overthinking every laugh I hear?

Yeah I do that too. It helps to remember most people are just focused on their own stuff, not us.

wait, is that actually true tho? like i always figured people were secretly judging every little thing i did, but reading this kinda hits different. i used to be so worried about the guy at the red light seeing me trip, but honestly he's prolly just thinking about his own stuff like what he's gonna eat for dinner or if he remembered to lock his door. it's wild how much that simple thought can change your whole mindset when you're out in public.

But what about when people actually are watching? Like when you trip on a sidewalk crack, you can bet the guy in the car at the red light saw it. He'll forget in two seconds, but he still saw it. That's the weird part.
