Just realized I wasted a whole afternoon overthinking a text message

My friend sent 'K' after I asked about weekend plans. I spent like 3 hours analyzing if they were mad, checking old texts for tone, the whole deal. Then I just called them. They were literally just driving and used voice-to-text. Has anyone else spiraled over a single letter before?

Remember when everyone used to type "lol" for everything? I once got a "lol" after telling a friend my cat died. I was so hurt and confused, ready to end the friendship. Turns out they just had it set as an auto correct for "okay" and felt awful about it. Our brains just fill in the worst possible meaning when there's no tone.
