My backyard looked the same for 3 years until I cut down one maple tree

I've got this small yard in Pittsburgh that always felt dark and damp, especially in the back corner near the fence. Last month I finally hired a guy to take out this big old maple that was blocking all the sun. After he hauled the stump out, I swear the grass went from patchy moss to thick green in just 2 weeks. Has anyone else seen a huge change from removing just one tree?

Oh totally, that happened to me but with a giant pine tree in my backyard. I mean, I had this big pine right by my deck and the ground under it was just all dead needles and dirt for years. After I got it taken out, the grass literally came back in like a month. It was crazy how fast it greened up once the sun could actually hit the ground. Idk why I waited so long honestly, that tree was probably blocking more light than I realized. It's wild how just one tree can change the whole feel of a yard, right?

Nah, I gotta disagree. That tree was probably doing more than just blocking light, like keeping the soil moist and stopping runoff. Now you'll probably be watering that spot twice as much just to keep it from getting baked.
