My laptop charger melted at 3am and I almost lost my whole project
I was up late Tuesday night finishing a design file for a client deadline the next morning. Around 3am, I smelled something like burning plastic and looked down to see the charging port on my laptop actually smoking. I yanked the cord out and the tip was all black and warped, totally melted. Now I'm sitting here with a dead laptop and no way to get the file off the hard drive until I find a replacement charger today. Has anyone else had a charger just fail like that out of nowhere?

The way tech fails always seems to hit at the worst possible moment, like the universe has a sense of humor about deadlines. In my experience, sudden charger meltdowns usually come from a loose connection that slowly builds up heat over time, you just don't notice until it's too late.
