Overheard a kid at Target say vinyl records are just old man toys

I was grabbing a birthday card and this teenager told their friend that vinyl is just clutter for old people... and honestly it stung a bit. I started collecting back in 2018 after I found my dad's old copy of Rumours by Fleetwood Mac at a garage sale in Akron. It got me wondering though, am I just holding onto this stuff because it feels meaningful, or is there still something real about the crackle and warmth you can't get from Spotify? Has anyone else had that moment where you question your own hobby after an offhand comment?

Flip the record over and the hidden B-side tracks feel like secret treasure from a forgotten era.

Kinda makes you wonder though - what's the story behind those B-sides? Like were they songs the band didn't think were good enough for the A-side or were they just experimenting with something different? I always think about that with certain records where the B-side ends up being way more interesting than the main track. Some of those old punk singles had B-sides that were basically the band goofing off in the studio and it's way more raw than the polished stuff. Is that what you mean by treasure from a forgotten era?

Heck yeah @gavin_knight39, I always keep a needle handy to dig through those B-sides first.
