Picked the $12 tortilla press over the $45 one at the Denver flea market and now I'm wondering if I saved cash or screwed myself

After 3 batches of lopsided tortillas I keep watching the cheap press wobble and asking if the expensive one would've held up better, has anyone else had a budget tool fail but still worked out okay?

Is the wobble coming from the press itself or the surface it's sitting on?

That wobble might actually be saving your arms from way more wear and tear, the expensive ones are often so stiff they crack your countertop unless you bolt them down. Honestly, a lopsided tortilla still tastes fine, so maybe the cheap press is doing exactly what it needs to do.
